gareth bentley is a professional photographer based in zambia, africa.

coming from a family that stretches back 5 generations in zambia, gareth was born and brought up in this country and has lived here all his life. he has gained a deep knowledge of the land and her people and his passion for both is evident in his work. he is deeply enthusiastic about photography and always seeks new and innovative ways to express ideas through this medium.

gareth's extensive experience in extremely diverse photographic fields has given him the ability to tackle challenging projects ranging from aerial surveys to shooting drillers working 600m underground!

the bulk of gareth's commercial work is for local multinationals such as MTN, SAB Miller and Sun International, whilst also producing images for local organizations including NGOs, lodges and mines. he also provides imagery to clients abroad, including JP Morgan Climate Care, The Irish Times, Zuma Press and Sawubona Magazine.

gareth's passion lies in social documentary photography, and in between assignments he finds time to work on personal projects of this nature. He is currently working on an exhibition scheduled for the end of 2009.
